چکیده

The Hybrid Monte Carlo (HMC) algorithm[1] is now the standard method to simulate dynamical fermions. However the cost of the algorithm is substantial. It is therefore desirable to improve the efficiency of the HMC algorithm. First, we examine the possibility of changing the step size adaptively[2,3]. Second, we implement the HMC algorithm with approximate Hamiltonians. Lastly, we precondition the fermionic action used in the HMC algorithm.

EXCALIBUR – a Monte Carlo program to evaluate all four fermion processes at LEP 200 and beyond 1

A Monte Carlo program is presented that computes all four fermion processes in e + e − annihilation. QED initial state corrections and QCD contributions are included. Fermions are taken to be massless, allowing a very fast evaluation of the matrix element. A systematic, modular and self-optimizing strategy has been adopted for the Monte Carlo integration, that serves also as an example for furt...

Parallelized traveling cluster approximation to study numerically spin-fermion models on large lattices.

Lattice spin-fermion models are important to study correlated systems where quantum dynamics allows for a separation between slow and fast degrees of freedom. The fast degrees of freedom are treated quantum mechanically while the slow variables, generically referred to as the "spins," are treated classically. At present, exact diagonalization coupled with classical Monte Carlo (ED + MC) is exte...

WWGENPV 2.0 - A Monte Carlo Event Generator for Four-Fermion Production at e+e− Colliders

The Monte Carlo program WWGENPV, designed for computing distributions and generating events for four-fermion production in ee collisions, is described. The new version, 2.0, includes the full set of the electroweak (EW) tree-level matrix elements for doubleand single-W production, initialand final-state photonic radiation including pT /pL effects in the Structure Function formalism, all the rel...

Combinatorial nuclear level density by a Monte Carlo method.

We present a new combinatorial method for the calculation of the nuclear level density. It is based on a Monte Carlo technique, in order to avoid a direct counting procedure which is generally impracticable for high-A nuclei. The Monte Carlo simulation, making use of the Metropolis sampling scheme, allows a computationally fast estimate of the level density for many fermion systems in large she...

Dynamical Fermion on Random-Block Lattice

The problem of formulating the chiral fermion field on space-time lattices has been discussed from the viewpoint of funtional integrals [1]. I argued that the functional integral measure provided by any single lattice ( hypercubical lattice or random lattice ) is not sufficent to yield fermionic functional integrals to agree with the continuum field theory. My proposal of using an ensemble of r...
